Live Life To Your Fullest
I don’t know what season of the year is your favorite, but mine is spring. The days get longer, and warmer. The birds and the bees start doing their thing, and there’s nothing quite like the blooming of flowers and trees.
That said, this, being my 48th spring, you’d think I would know by now that it’s the same old thing.
Winter follows autumn, and spring follows winter. It is as predictable as the sunrise, and sunset. In fact, it’s directly related.
When you pause and think for a moment, sitting there on a beautiful spring morning, with the sun on your face and a gentle breeze on your skin, you know winter is coming again.
Ugh. You just got through it. Why bring it up again?
Because life, unlike the seasons, is not that predictable in terms of timing. But it is predictable in knowing there will be another winter. You just don’t know when it’s coming.
The real question you should be asking yourself is, how to best prepare for the next winter and fall, and how to prepare for the next spring and summer?
The old adage, this too shall pass, is even more strange when you know when it will pass. It is like a life, give or take a decade or two.
Your life will have ups and downs, changes and evolutions, good times and bad, happiness and challenges.
That is all part of life, so why be surprised as things grow, live, and pass away. Why be surprised by what has happened to every single person who has come before you.
Why not accept, that one day, it will be your last, and make the most of the days you are here.
Sure, it can drive you crazy, like a hockey practice that will never end. You measure your steps, holding something back for the next exercise, the next drill, or tomorrow.
Why not live to your fullest, fill you day up until you fall into bed exhausted every day from all the life you are living?
Why not give it your all today, tomorrow, and whatever days after that may come?
Don’t put it off, because tomorrow’s not guaranteed.
Don’t wait, because you never know.
Most importantly, don’t waste your time on things that do not matter in the grand scheme of things. Build that relationship. Climb that mountain. Start that company. Help that coworker. Be the best son or daughter you can be. Make a difference in the lives of those around you.
Live to your fullest, and your life has no choice but to be fulfilling to you, and all those around you.
