100 Lessons from 100 People Over 100

I stumbled across this article: ‘Keep your eyes open – and leap into the future’: 100 centenarians’ 100 tips for a life well lived (https://www.theguardian.com/science/2023/feb/18/100-centenarians-100-tips-for-a-life-well-lived)
Here is a summary of the 100 lessons given, and how to incorporate them into your life.  It can seem overwhelming, but here are some ideas on how to do it:
Daily:
  • Wake up with a happy disposition and find something to laugh about
  • Make time to connect with your partner and express love
  • Take care of your physical health by eating sensibly and being active
  • Learn something new or challenge yourself mentally
  • Volunteer or help someone in need
  • Keep a positive outlook, be kind to others, and smile whenever possible
Weekly:
  • Set aside time to pursue a hobby or passion
  • Stay up to date with the news and the changing times
  • Spend quality time with friends and family, either in person or virtually
  • Reflect on your week and write in a diary to document your life
  • Make an effort to try something new or go on a small adventure
Monthly:
  • Take a trip, whether it’s a short getaway or a longer vacation abroad
  • Attend a cultural event or try a new restaurant to broaden your experiences
  • Reconnect with an old friend or family member and celebrate their life and achievements
  • Invest in your personal growth by learning a new language or skill
  • Take time to reflect on your goals and progress, and adjust accordingly
Remember, incorporating these things into your life doesn’t have to be rigid or structured. Find what works for you and make adjustments as necessary. The key is to prioritize your physical, mental, and emotional well-being, maintain relationships, and find joy and meaning in your life.
