da Vinci Today
Have you ever stopped to admire a great painting? A wonderful sculpture? Some amazing architecture?
What you are viewing is people sharing their gifts. All the years Leonardo da Vinci spent learning to paint. Studying all the differences in shade and light. The pursuit of which lead him into the fields of science.
I love admiring his work.
But what I really want to know is how he thought. What made him so creative, solve so many different problems. Look at the world in such a different way as to become a legend, not only in his own time, but to today.
There are people who share their wisdom and knowledge, and even more than that, share it in a way that we can learn from.
They simplify (aka dumb it down) for the rest of us, and give us some actionable steps to follow. They give a glimpse of what they spent years learning, and give you enough to be interested, and follow some key principles.
A couple of more modern examples are Warren Buffett and Ray Dalio. These two investors have unique skills, one is a macro (global, international), the other more of a micro (local, country wide), and the way they think is extraordinary.
The way they invest is simple, but not easy. The way they run their companies is simple, but not easy. The way they communicate with the rest of us is simple, but not easy.
I just want to humbly say thank you, I appreciate it! I am so grateful for those who provide tools for the rest of us, and it’s an amazing journey to be on with them. Where because they share, we can learn.
They are the da Vinci’s of our time when it comes to income, wealth, and prosperity.
And when you stop and think about it, the only reason we’ve heard of Buffett, or Dalio, is because they wrote down the way they think. They documented their processes, and tried to learn and improve from them. So not only are they great investors, they are great communicators.
Their artform is not a pencil or brush, but money and policy.
Not to long ago I was once told that business is the way I create. Business is the way I express my creativity. My creative expression is business.
It took me by surprise, and the more I reflected on it, the more I realize it is correct.
So the question is, how do you create? What do you do that expresses the way you feel? What keeps you up at night, and gets you out of bed in the morning? I know it’s more than the latest fad, or viral video. There’s more to you than that.
If you don’t know what it is yet, keep exploring. Keep learning.
Listen to the little voice inside and realize that in order to keep learning, you have to experiment. In order to experiment you have to try. And when you try, you will fail. You have to be willing to fall down on the path of knowledge, and get back up.
All you can do is find whatever calls to you, and spend your time there. It’s truly amazing the way what you consume, impacts how you think. And how you think determines where you will go.
And after all that, I ask only one other thing: Write your journey down. Share how you think with the world because your voice matters.
