glory in the little jobs
There is glory in the little jobs. The things that people do, that you hardly notice.
The nanny who takes care of those kids. The garbage man who picks up and takes away everything you don’t want. The meal that is prepared with that extra garnish. The service you get at the counter, that makes you smile.
All those little jobs are amazing, and make the world go ’round.
Sure, there is glory in the big jobs, the titans of industry. The global leaders making decisions that will impact for years to come.
But none of that would be possible without the little jobs. The guy who tightens the bolt on your wheel so you drive home safely. The girl who brings you a drink refill before you’ve even asked for it. The crew who keep the park looking nice, so your kids can play in a safe and beautiful environment.
All of these things we take for granted, and all of these things can be viewed as a task, as a chore, as something you’ve got to do. Or they can be viewed as something to take pride in. Something to be proud of, knowing that what has been done, brightens someone else’s day.
