you’ll never regret it
It’s not the knowledge you have, it’s what you do with that knowledge that matters.
You can know what the right thing is. But do you do the right thing?
You can know how do execute on an idea. But do you take the required action?
You can learn how to play the flute, write a poem, be a better mom or dad, support your family, and succeed in the world. But did you do what you know how to do?
We can accumulate, and accumulate, and gather, and ponder, but without thoughtful measured action, you’ll never get anything done.
Learning something new is hard, and uncomfortable, and difficult.
Once you have that knowledge, taking action on it feels strange. It’s not natural, and odds are you’ll fail.
When you fail, you’ll want to stop. You’ll want to quit. You’ll want to discontinue all your efforts and revert back to what you were, and how you did things before.
Deep down inside, we’re all little kids that are afraid of falling down, getting laughed at in the schoolyard, and looking dumb in front of the girl we like.
What I’ve come to realize over the years is the more you put out into the world, the more you get back. The more you venture, thoughtfully, the more you’ll gain.
Work on your strengths, and make them better. Shore up your weaknesses, so they don’t bring you down. And most of all, take action on what you know to become the best version of you possible.
You’ll never regret it.
